Upchurch Village Fete 2017 - Chairman's Note

Dear Residents,

The 4th Village fete will soon be upon us, it comes around so quickly! As always we look to provide a fun day out and encourage fund raising at the various stalls provided by our local organisations and groups.

The Rock Choir enjoys performing at our event and is looking forward to entertaining you again this year. Other musical entertainment will be The Syncopators Jazz Band, performing in the Beer tent provided this year by The Crown, our volunteer rock band The Lynks and Holywell School choir. A new act this year comes from the Kent Musical Theatre Society promoting local productions. Sadly Micky the Magician cannot be with us but we do have Mrs Back To Front coming along to entertain the children. The Sky Birds of Prey were very popular last year and are returning with their birds and demonstrations. There will be maypole dancing by our Brownies and Guides and hopefully enough teams for a friendly tug of war. We have a big raffle with the first prize of a Thames Lunch Cruise for two! The runners up get other superb days out. Make sure you get your tickets, available from the committee, The Crown or on the day.

We would like to thank in advance our various financial sponsors. Once again we have the support from local businesses such as Kent Trade Frames, Upchurch River Valley Golf Course, Hidsons, Grandsens, Kinloch & Sons and JASCOM Electrical Contractors. We also thank The Barnyard, The Edith May and Amethyst Garden Centre the donation of prizes (as received at time of writing). We also thank our Swale Councillors Gerry Lewin and John Wright for their generous grants towards our day.

We hope that you can come along and enjoy a day out whilst making it a successful fund raising event for your village community.

Note: Dogs are welcome, as long as they are kept on a lead!

See you there!
