I am writing to inform you we have discovered a water leak on our school grounds. Monitoring of water usage in recent weeks suggests the leak is considerable and requires immediate action to find and repair.
The work requires part of the school car park to be dug up in order to find the leak and therefore will cause some disruption. As you will understand, this is not possible while the school is open during term time. Therefore, as a matter of urgency, the Local Authority has scheduled this work to be carried out over the coming weekend and bank holiday.
I understand this may cause some disruption over the weekend but the contractors will endeavour to keep this as minimal as possible. We have been reassured noise will be kept to a minimum and work will not commence until after 9.00am on Saturday morning and if necessary, Sunday morning. The contractors aim to complete phase 1 of this by Monday morning.
We have also been reassured all contractors vehicles will be parked within the school grounds and therefore will not impact upon parking or access to houses.
Further work will be required for phase 2 later in the term but this will have minimal disruption to local housing. We will keep you informed of this when we have a confirmed date.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely,
Darran Callaghan - Headteacher
