Please Vote for the Holywell School Nature Forest in the Aviva Community Fund
The Aviva Community Fund offers the chance for local community projects to win funding for the causes they care about.
Holywell School and The Parents and Friends of Holywell School (PFHS) would like to create a Nature Forest that would benefit all of the children currently at the school, now and in the future.
The project would allow the children to create a special place alongside the staff, which can be enjoyed by not just the school but also the local community. It is something the children will take pride in and nurture themselves, learning as they go.
The installation of bird boxes and bees which can be shared online can also support the local community and increase biodiversity which will impact the whole village.
The proposed Nature Forest would include:
1- Training for staff to lead forest school sessions for all children.
2 - Create a sensory area for children with SEN to access regularly to support them with learning and wellbeing
3 - Install bird boxes and bee nests which can be video linked via the school website to enable all of the local community to enjoy
4 - Create a pond and meadow to develop biodiversity in our school grounds.
5 - Create an allotment area.
6 - Purchase additional resources so the children can access these areas and investigate them, including technology such as microscopes, magnifying boxes, tuff trays, benches, forest school equipment etc.
