The English Festival at Riverside Country Park

The English Festival is Medway Council's FREE annual fun day out for the whole family, celebrating the most iconic and ironic of English traditions.

This year's Festival takes place again at Riverside Country Park, Lower Rainham Road, Gillingham, ME7 2XH on Saturday the 21st of April 2018 from 11:00am until 5:00pm.

Royal

This year's them is royal, and cake bakers can put their imagination and sugar craft skills to the test and enter the cake decorating competition.

Watch a performance by St. George and the dragon, play bingo or visit the petting zoo. Listen to live bands, buy local produce or have your face painted, you can also take part in the Town Crier competition - plus lots more!

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.

Parking

Due to limited parking spaces at Riverside Country Park, visitors are encouraged to use the Park and Ride and Park and Walk options.

In previous year's, a Park & Ride service has run from the main car park at the Historic Dockyard, Chatham (look out for the yellow Park & Ride signs) between 10:00am and 6:00pm.

There has also been a Park & Walk service - park your vehicle at Bloors Wharf (at the bottom of Bloors Lane, off of the Lower Rainham Road) and enjoy a pleasant 15minute walk to the Festival along the river path - signs will be visible along the way.

There is usually only limited PAID car parking on site. Parking is aimed primarily at blue badge holders. Disabled parking is available at Riverside Country Park and Chatham Dockyard.

Riverside Country Park is covered under Medway bus routes.

Look out for local roadsigns or check online for details of this year's parking arrangements.
