Upchurch Village Hall Management Committee - Vacancy for a Chairperson
Upchurch Village Hall Management Committee help maintain and run our local village hall. Without this team of committed members many local groups would have nowhere to meet.
The village hall has been used for over 50 years. The hall is currently used for the local pantomime, UpARA meetings, W I meetings, bowls and many other great organisations.
Now they need help from villagers
Meeting on every second Wednesday of the month, the Committee still needs to find a Chairperson. No experience is necessary (although experience volunteering in other Committees would be helpful). The Committee is pleased to report that the vacancy for Secretary has now been filled.
If you have some spare time and care about our village hall, please consider volunteering for this role
Helping out with village organisations is a great way to meet new people and feel like you are doing some good for our community.

Temporary Road Closure - Raspberry Hill Lane, Iwade
It will be necessary to close part of Raspberry Hill Lane, Iwade, near Sittingbourne, planned from Monday 20th May 2019, with estimated completion by 24th May 2019.
Raspberry Hill Lane will be closed in the general vicinity of the junction with Old Ferry Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via Basser Hill, School Lane, The Street and Old Ferry Road.
Local access to the remainder of Raspberry Hill Lane continues from a western direction up to where the road is actually closed.
The closure is to enable UK Power Networks to carry out works to provide a new electricity supply.
Due to the nature of these works, it will not be possible to re-open the road outside the working hours.
There is a slight chance that the works may over-run for such reasons as adverse weather conditions or unforeseen engineering difficulties.
The UK Power Networks 24 hour number is: 0800 783 8866
