Gathering and Photocall at the new Upchurch, Church - Bus Shelter




Upchurch Parish Council Chairman, Tyrone Ripley joined Councillor Mike Baldock at a gathering and photocall at the new Upchurch, Church - Bus Shelter in Horsham Lane.

Long term campaigners for the Shelter, Brenda and Bob Quy, resident Sylvia Roberts and Parish Councillor Peter Masson, together with Megan and Paul Boakes and staff from Boakes Joinery all had their picture taken for Kent Online.

Upchurch WI & Wives Group - Silent Auction & Coffee Morning - Amount Raised and Thank You

Many thanks to everyone who contributed, helped and attended our Silent Auction & Coffee Morning on Saturday the 5th of  November.

The event raised a sum of £775.00, all of which is going to the
Upchurch Village Hall Fund.

Gathering and Photocall at the new Upchurch, Church - Bus Shelter


Upchurch Parish Council and Councillor Mike Baldock would like to invite campaigners for the new Upchurch, Church - Bus Shelter in Horsham Lane, and anyone else who would like to attend to a gathering and photocall this Thursday the 10th of November at 2:30pm.

The Rainbow Café at St. Mary's Church will also be open serving refreshments.

The new Shelter was built and installed by Upchurch company, Boakes Joinery and is an example of their top quality craftsmanship.

Upchurch Surgery Patient Participation Group - Flu & Shingles Vaccinations - Bowel Cancer Screening

Flu Vaccination

There is still time to get your Flu vaccination.

A lot of people eligible to have this vaccination have not taken up the offer!

Shingles Vaccination

From 1st September 2016 now routinely available for people aged 70 and 78.

You become eligible for the vaccine on the first day of September 2016 “after” you’ve turned 70 or 78 and remain so until the last day of August 2017.

In addition, anyone who was eligible for immunisation in the previous three years of the programme but missed out on their Shingles vaccination remains eligible until their 80th birthday. This includes:

* People aged 71, 72 and 73 on 1st September 2016.

* People aged 79 on 1st September 2106.

The Shingles vaccine is not available on the NHS if you are aged 80 or over.

Please book both the above through Marian and/or Michelle at the local surgery.

Bowel Cancer Screening

Patients are not taking the offer up when they receive the letter/test kit in the post.

Can you really afford to ignore such an offer?

It is your health, take care of it.

Prevent before it’s too late.
