Urgent Road Closure - Chaffes Lane - 28th September

It has been necessary to close Chaffes Lane to through traffic from today, 28th September for up to 2 Days.

The road will be closed at the junction with Drakes Close to the junction with Oak Lane.

The alternative route is via Chaffes Lane, Bishop Lane and Oak Lane.

The closure is necessary to enable repair of a pipe leak to be carried out by Clancy Docwra.

This Notice applies when the relevant signs and barriers are on site, and is valid for a period of no more than 5 days.

Afternoon Tea Dance at Upchurch Village Hall

The second Afternoon Tea Dance, held on Monday 26th September in the Village Hall, was again considered to be a great success.

Everyone who came enjoyed either dancing or just watching others dance, and all enjoyed a pleasant Afternoon Tea. In fact it was said it rivalled Afternoon Tea at the Ritz!!

The Team extends great thanks to the ladies of the Bowls Club who supplied cakes and sandwiches, and to the husbands for being general dogsbodies and washer uppers.

All profit will go to support the Village Hall to help keep this amenity in the village.

It’s likely the next one will be in January next year so watch this space.
