Upchurch Matters Community Champion Award 2021

Congratulations to Gill Gay, recipient of our first ever Upchurch Matters Community Champion Award.

It was a delight and a privilege to surprise Gill this morning with her unique framed certificate and a bouquet of flowers at St Mary's Church, as a well deserved and huge thank you on behalf of everyone.

Thanks also to Swale Ward Councillor and Cabinet Member for Community Richard Palmer and Parish Council Chairman Tyrone Ripley for joining us to help make the presentation so special.

Gill's certificate reads:

AWARDED FOR

“Continued and selfless voluntary work with Swale Foodbank and St Mary's Church, Upchurch.”

“For being a helping hand and a voice to those finding life difficult, in communities at home and abroad, both during the pandemic and in today's challenging times, with husband Ron by her side.”

Thank you for everything you do, and continue to do, Gill 👏🏼
