Proposed Development of 41 Homes at Jubilee Fields
Whilst many Upchurch residents have already lodged objections to this development within the village, it does give further opportunity to others who may not be aware of this proposal, to make their feelings known.
The main objections to this development have been:
Jubilee Fields is a Greenfield Site.
The site forms part of the character of Upchurch as a village rather than an urban area.
Planning was refused in 2008 by S.B.C. and 2009 by the Secretary of State.
The infrastructure of the village would be under tremendous strain, sewage, water, doctors, school, electricity, parking, additional traffic and light pollution to name a few.
Upchurch has already a substantial number of planning proposals either passed or under consideration such as:-
50+ homes at Four Gun Field
15 homes at Canterbury Lane
300 + homes at Otterham Quay Lane
All of which will erode the rural gap.
If Upchurch is to remain a village it is important as residents that we express our feelings to Swale Planning Department. Contact details are:-
Postal: Mid Kent Planning Support, Maidstone House, King Street, Maidstone ME15 6JQ
Email: planningsupport@midkent.gov.uk
Online planning services: www.swale.gov.uk
In each case it is essential to quote Ref Number 15/501944/FULL and include both your name and address.
Please remember your comments count in trying to keep Upchurch a village.
Regards
Mike Denny 106 Oak Lane

We have been informed that persons have been calling on homes in the Rainham area looking for work and in particular roofing.
Please do not deal with callers at the door but contact Medway Council and ask for a Fair Trader list of tradesmen for the trade you require.
If you do not have a No caller sticker then they can be sent to you or to Rainham Contact point.
If you have any information that could help investigators please contact Kent Police on telephone number 101 and quote the relevant crime number above.
