Country Eye App - Helping to Keep the Kent Countryside Safe

Country Eye is designed to help gather information about crimes and incidents that occur in our local countryside. Features include a News Feed, Crime Knowledge Base, Help Section and optional App notifications.

Photos taken and information entered into the App is broadcast to other App users and to the Country Eye Team who will review it and or forward it directly to the appropriate authority, in an attempt to inform them about possible patterns or frequency of incidents.

The App is available as a FREE download for Apple IOS devices and devices running the Google Android Operation System, from the link here ☞ www.countryeye.co.uk

Once installed, users need to register using the App and grant permission for it to access their location.

The App is NOT intended for use in emergency situations.

The App's ability to use our precise current location means it's News Feed instantly shows many recent incidents of local fly tipping and other rural crimes. Country Eye automatically records the date, time and location of all the crimes you submit. A relevant crime number can also be added.

Upchurch Poppy Day Appeal 2016

The total donations to the Royal British Legion from Upchurch again exceeded £3,000 and are estimated to be £3,203. Of this amount £793 was donated through the local business or retail outlets and the pupils and staff of Holywell School donated £408. The house-to-house Poppy Appeal collection in Upchurch was undertaken in all areas of the Parish by fourteen residents and eight Scouts.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin had a large congregation of all ages for the Remembrance Sunday service conducted by the Reverend Julian Staniforth aided by the Reverend Amanda Lane. Wreaths were laid below the memorial tablet in the Lady Chapel on behalf of the Church, The Mayor of Swale, Upchurch Parish Council, the Upchurch Scouting movement and the Upchurch Brownies. Following the laying of wreaths the Last Post was played and the two minute silence was observed. After the service Reverend Staniforth led the choir, the uniformed youth organisations and the congregation in the kind autumnal weather to the burial ground. Wooden crosses were laid at the five war commission graves by past personnel from the Armed Services and Police followed by representatives of the uniformed youth organisations.

This year we remained mindful of the ultimate sacrifice made by those who fought in World War I and subsequent conflicts but we also give for the welfare and support of those who returned, in so many cases badly injured, from recent conflicts.

On behalf of the Royal British Legion thank you for your generosity.
